Behind the Glow

What makes Wildflower Candle Co. different?

At Wildflower Candle Co., we create luxury candles inspired by nature, using a clean-burning soy wax blend made from American-grown soybeans with a small soy-based additive. This additive raises the wax’s melt point so our candles hold their shape even in warm weather. We pair this with phthalate-free, non-toxic fragrance oils to create scents you can feel good about.

Our candles are vegan, cruelty-free, and free from carcinogens, reproductive toxins, and other harmful chemicals so you can enjoy beautiful fragrances without compromise.

What ingredients do you use in your candles?

Our candles are made with thoughtfully selected, high-quality materials that reflect our commitment to clean burning and intentional design. We use:

  • Soy wax with no paraffin or petroleum byproducts
  • Non-toxic, phthalate-free fragrance oils
  • Lead-free cotton wicks for a clean, soot-free burn
  • Dried flowers sourced from a certified food-safe facility in Washington State
  • Eco-friendly, biodegradable glitter
  • Crystal and gemstone chips selected to complement each scent

Are your candles safe for pets?

Our candles are made with clean-burning, non-toxic ingredients and contain no phthalates, parabens, or known harmful toxins.

While some pets may be sensitive to certain essential oils, our fragrance oils are formulated with minimal essential oil content. After consulting with our veterinarian, we’ve been assured that our candles, when used as intended, are generally safe around pets.

As always, burn candles in well-ventilated areas and monitor your pet for any unusual behavior. If you have concerns, consult your veterinarian.

Are your wildflower seeds pet safe?

Our dust cover labels are made from wildflower seed paper, containing a mix of daisies, poppies, and celosia. While these blooms bring beauty to the garden, some varieties, like daisies and poppies, can be harmful to pets if ingested. We recommend planting them in areas away from curious cats and dogs to keep your furry friends safe and happy.

Disclaimer: Please keep seed paper and planted blooms out of reach of pets, as some flowers may be toxic if eaten.

Do your candles contain ingredients from California's Proposition 65 list?

No. Our candles are free from all chemicals identified under California's Proposition 65, which are known to cause cancer, reproductive harm, or other health risks.

Are your candles eco-friendly?

Yes! We use sustainable soy wax, lead-free wicks, recyclable glass jars, and eco-conscious packaging. Our candles are handcrafted in small batches to reduce waste and maintain exceptional quality.

What are Wildflower paper seed labels?

Our candle labels are made from 100% recycled, eco-friendly seed paper embedded with a mix of poppy, daisy, and celosia seeds. Once your candle arrives, you can remove the dust cover label, plant it in soil, and grow wildflowers that support bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.

How do I plant my Wildflower label?

  • Place the label in soil and cover it with a thin layer of soil.
  • Water daily to keep the soil moist but not soggy.
  • Be patient. Seeds typically sprout within 10 to 21 days with proper sunlight and care.

Why do you use seed paper?

It’s our way of extending your candle’s story beyond the flame. Seed paper reduces waste, supports pollinators, and allows you to bring a little more nature into your world.

How do I get the best burn from my candle?

  • Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each lighting.
  • For the first burn, allow wax to melt to the jar edges to prevent tunneling.
  • Burn for no more than 4 hours at a time.

How long do your candles burn?

Our 7 oz candles burn for about 40 to 50 hours with proper care.

Our 12 oz candles burn for about 70 to 80 hours with proper care.

Candle Safety

We want your Wildflower candle experience to be as safe as it is beautiful. Please follow these safety guidelines when burning your candle:

  • Always burn within sight and never leave it unattended.
  • Keep away from drafts, flammable materials, children, and pets.
  • Place on a stable, heat-safe surface before lighting.
  • Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each burn to prevent excess soot or high flames.
  • Stop use when ¼ inch of wax remains to prevent overheating the vessel.
